Winners aren't made in gyms or on fields. Winners are made from something they have deep inside them - a desire, a dream, heart and a vision. They have to have the skill and the will. But the will must be stronger than the skill.

Dear Susquehanna Township Freshmen Indians,
“It’s a family affair – You wouldn’t understand” is the motto and engine that drives the NEW and improved freshman team this 2006-07-football season. With the reconstruction of the freshman coaching staff, the Indians’ goal this year is to introduce and educate these young players to the game of football, as well as life. Not only will these young men learn the game, they will be required to attend study halls, film sessions, and develop leadership skills. This season, we will be faced with many obstacles, such as distractions, eligibility, quitters, doubters, sideline coaches and know-it-alls. But with the motto in mind (It’s a Family Affair), this freshman team is up for the challenge. One of the main goals is to improve on the past record of the freshman football team, as well as create a “never lose at home attitude.” This team is truly exciting and I absolutely can’t wait to take the field with this fine group of coaches and players.
We have a strong and challenging schedule ahead of us. Knowing that most of these kids will face each other over the next 4 years, it’s a must for us to get off on the right foot and show the other teams that Hanna is a well-respected team and will be a major force to be reckoned with. Within the last two years, the freshman team has not won a single game, but they fought hard.
The coaching staff consists of four hard-working gentlemen. All of the coaching staff, Mr. Clark, Mr. Vaughn, Mr. Stokes and I, takes the task of rebuilding the team’s reputation seriously. Terry Clark has been a part of the Hanna Family for over 10 years with the feeder program. His new duties include being the Defensive Coordinator for the freshman staff. Coach Charles “Abby” Vaughn is another strong football-minded coach. He’s been around Susquehanna for years and years and is a graduate from Township. Coach Vaughn will be calling the Special Teams and helping strongly with the skilled positions on offense and defense. Coach Clarence Stokes controls the offensive and defensive lines. Finally, the new Head Coach, in his first season with the Indians, is me, Warren Ritter. I will also be the Offensive Coordinator. With a staff like this, the Frosh Team is ready.
With the pre-signing of 98 kids, 60 of them showing up to summer conditioning/weight training, 50 showing up to the first- ever freshman mini camp, the Indians got off on a positive note. In the process they learned all the formations, different defensive packages, basic schemes, and unity. They are greedy with talent, hungry for improvement, and thirsty for knowledge. That alone says this team is A Mouth Full. With only two returning players from last year, a new era is ready to begin. Go HANNA!
Your Freshman Head Coach
Warren “Coach Ritt” Ritter
*I would also like to extend a hand of thanks to the Coaches, Players, Administrators, Parents, Trainers, Township, and the Booster Club Members. Without everyone working as a unit, this would not be possible.
